Argh, it is so annoying and itchy. I couldn’t hold off any longer and just had a mad scratching session. Lots of white bumps on my skin now.

Hi. I have this same issues and go through what seem to be flare-ups. Ian on a lot of meds and nothing… I woke up today covered in the hives. Have you found anything or a doctor that has helped you?

Hi, I’ve never really had much help from the doctors. My Chinese doctor was helpful. He mentioned that it was based on diet and stress levels! He said there isn’t really a cure of it and it is one of those things that (may) just go-away one day. I have a list of foods to avoid when I get flare-ups, some of these are bigger triggers than others and include: garlic, onion, shellfish, lamb, alcohol, caffeine, spicy food.

I find cutting back (or cutting out) these foods does help when it is quite bad. I also take antihistamines to control the flare-ups. They usually take about 20 – 30 minutes to work and I had to try quite a few brands before I found one that worked for me. More recently, I have found that drinking more water and exercising more seems to have got my skin under control.

I hope this helps in someway. I’m not a doctor, but I’ve tried researching and experimenting with food and exercise. Personally, I’d rather not take medication if I can help it but sometimes I have to get temporary relief from the itching!
